PERFORMANCE IN EDUCATION   TOURING PRODUCTIONS

Baltimore Shakespeare Festival's Performance-in-Education touring productions are now being booked for the 2007/2008 school year. These tours feature professional actors and are an excellent way to enhance your curriculum and introduce your students to the magic of Shakespeare. These tours are booked through Young Audiences of Maryland.

A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM
(grades K-8)
An actor tells the crazy, funny story of the play complete with rebellious lovers, arguing fairies and nighttime pranks. Students are incorporated into the story, silently portraying the roles as they are directed.

CLOWNING AROUND WITH SHAKESPEARE
(grades K-5)
Famous Elizabethan clown Will Kemp performs funny Shakespearean monologues prior to his supposed royal audition. Play associates Shakespeare with fun and excitement in preparation for middle school instruction of his work.

MONDO SHAKESPEARE, JR.
(grades 6-10)
Wild and wacky introduction to the works of Shakespeare. Performers explore the themes of persuasion and coercion and take on an assortment of roles in split second costume changes. Rescues Shakespeare from stuffy academia by providing a fast-paced, anything-can-happen environment that captures the imagination of the audience.
