Artists in Residency Programs

A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM RESIDENCY        (2 weeks)

(grades 6-8)
It is a self-contained residency. This program includes one week of pre-curriculum to be delivered by the classroom teacher followed by two weeks of performance-based instruction delivered by a Festival actor/teacher. Program culminates in a 20-minute performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream, including costumes and props. Highly adaptable to fit the school schedule. This residency is booked through Young Audiences of Maryland.


ELIZABETHAN THEATRE AND CULTURE RESIDENCY     (1 week)

(grades 6-8)
Self-contained residency. This innovative program gives students an interactive exciting experience while learning about the culture of Shakespeare's time. Program culminates with students creating the atmosphere of visiting an Elizabethan theatre in character. One week of interactive instruction with Festival actor/teacher. Adaptable to the school schedule. This residency is booked through the Festival. SHAKESPEARE PRODUCTION RESIDENCY     (15 weeks)
(grades 9-12)
Intensive 15-week residence designed to guide students from page to stage over semester-long daily immersion with a Festival director and production manager. Students will spend two weeks learning themes and ideas in the pre-selected play. The next 13 weeks will be spent auditioning, casting, designing, and rehearsing an hour-long version of a Shakespeare play. This residency is booked through the Festival.
