The fascinating story of Fanny Kemble; one of the most famous actresses to grace the nineteenth century American stage, an early feminist, and abolitionist. This evening is her farewell tour, as her extraordinary solo performance of The Tempest interweaves with episodes from her own tempestuous life.
The show stars Kimberly Schraf, a two-time Helen Hayes Award nominee, who received a nod this year for "Outstanding Supporting Actrees in a Resident Musical" for Signature Theatre's Show Boat.
Lee Mikeska Gardner, a Helen Hayes Award winner and seven-time nominee, directs.
"Kimberly Schraf is endlessly impressive."
"She has a command of accents and voices that rivals Meryl Streep's."
"Baltimore Shakespeare Festival's production makes for an entertaining evening of theater. Fanny Kemble is well worth getting to know."
